The Paracel project selects ANDRITZ as supplier of process equipment for the factory

Asunción, August 16, 2022: The Paraguayan company Paracel S.A. announces today that ANDRITZ has been selected as the supplier of process equipment for the 1.8 million ton/year pulp mill to be built in Concepción, Paraguay. ANDRITZ will be the supplier of all process islands.

Paracel plans to produce 1.8 million tons/year in the pulp mill project in Concepción, Paraguay, with forestry assets of 185,000 ha of owned land. The company, founded on November 12, 2018, has since then forested more than 17,000 hectares, has already completed the design of the factory, received the construction permit for the factory, completed environmental and social impact assessments, carried out major works of land on the factory site, completed documentation for CO2 sequestration, and established action plans for the native forest conservation project and social programs.

The selection of the supplier of process equipment is a key milestone in the project. The work with potential suppliers has been carried out for more than 2 years, using the highest criteria of sustainability, health and safety, and productivity over time.

ANDRITZ was selected due to its cutting-edge technology, its excellent reputation for delivery, its regional knowledge and its broad scope of delivery under the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) modality.
