The Forestry Promotion Program closed its second timber purchase contract with a national company. This agreement guarantees the availability of raw material and also strengthens the social commitment with the producers of the area as a business alternative.

The contract was signed with Plan Sur S.A., whose property is located in Arroyito, a district in the department of Concepción.

The signatories of the contract were Agustín Alonso Zapag and Per Olofsson, representing Paracel, and Ángel Daniel Ayala Gill for Plan Sur S.A. The event was attended by Paracel’s CEO, Flavio Deganutti; Fabiano Stein, Forestry Director; and Eliodoro Medina, Forestry Development Manager.

The program’s area of influence is 200 km from the mill, located in Zapatero Cué, Paso Horqueta district, about 30 km from the city of Concepción. The objective is to generate income and diversify activities for producers, producers, institutions or interested organizations by making their economy more viable through the planting of eucalyptus trees.

– The forest plantation areas will carry out an important capture of carbon present in the air, therefore Paracel will contribute to the mitigation of the increase in the concentration of CO2, the main Greenhouse Gas (GHG) that causes global warming.
