Message from Jacinta Pereira on International Indigenous Women's Day

On International Indigenous Women’s Day, Jacinta Pereira, the leader of the indigenous community Redención of the Sanapaná people in the city of Concepción, gave a message to the local women and spoke about her academic achievements.

Jacinta graduated with a degree in Social Work at the National University of Concepción, and besides being a professional, she is at the head of her community attending to the needs.

«It is a very interesting challenge, a woman has to have the tenacity to face things in order to get ahead. To show that we women can, and even more so women who are older cannot lose hope to continue studying,» says Jacinta.

She also urged indigenous women and girls to train and continue preparing themselves for the challenges.
